Classical music has long been a part of romantic movies, because such scores tend to add some kind of an essence to visuals reflecting romance between the lead pair in a movie. It is the piano that has helped evolve soothing scores for composers. On learning the importance of such classical scores, filmmakers were keen in incorporating the particular kind of composition. With the evolution of piano music people have witnessed the arrival of complex solo pieces.

Today, the composer will use the piano in every possible combination in order to give rise to different kind of romantic tunes. Piano music is generally paired with other instruments for an added effect.

Sometimes it can be played solo; and at other times it can be accompanies by an entire orchestra. Furthermore, piano music has three distinct categories; each of these categories is needful for romantic visuals. So, let us now specify the different sub categories of the music emanated from the instrument that has been reigning over the romantic era and continues to do so, even in the current age:

Nocturne: A nocturne note is composed to give rise to music bearing a somber and melancholy note. The nocturne often encompasses an expressive melody that is played in a broken pattern. The credit of the first nocturne goes to John Field, an Irishman having vast knowledge in the field of music.

Etude: In French, the word means “study”. The etude is specifically patterned to address any particular technique. It is majorly used for practicing the instrument. Over the passage of time people have witnessed how composers have come up with innovative and impressive etudes with the help of other instruments.

Polonaise: It has originated from a Polish dance and a number of famous composers like Beethoven, Bach and Schubert have experimented with this kind of concertos.

The role-play of piano music is widely accepted in the film industry. Today, a number of composers are coming up with different romantic music for film. In fact one can clearly state that the piano sets free the emotional content of a scene through a dramatic continuity; it helps the visual piece gain a natural flow. A majority of people believe that that fragmentation of the basic style would eventually lead to a drastic end to romantic music.

In recent years, the audience is witnessing a slight change in romantic music due to the incorporation of latest instruments emanating different sound effects.
